As a Sportshawk at the Boston Globe, I was asked to help research factoids for an “On this date in 19XX at Fenway Park” graphic to be part of the Globe’s tribute to Fenway Park and the Red Sox. The idea was to highlight the best moments from the 100 year history of Fenway from April 1 through October 31. Since December, I’ve combed numerous books on baseball’s most historic moments, Red Sox history and possibly every “This day in Baseball history” blog and website in existence.
