The Huskies began the season with back-to-back buzzer-beating wins but tonight found out what it’s like to be on the other end as they fell 66-64 to La Salle University at Matthews Arena.

Sophomore guard Demetrius Pollard nailed a buzzer-beating three-pointer for a 65-64 Husky win over crosstown rivals Boston University on opening night after making only four three-pointers in 188 minutes his rookie season.

Athletic Director Peter Roby released the 2011-12 student-athlete cumulative GPA and highlighted the department’s successes in his semesterly update at Wednesday’s meeting of the Faculty Senate.

Lines shift, but no win for the Huskies

The men’s hockey team was less than a week removed from being shut out at Boston College when they walked into the Whittemore Center in Durham, N.H., to take on an undefeated University of New Hampshire team. Head coach Jim Madigan said he was looking for “different chemistry” and to come out with a win, so he introduced four revamped forward lines and two new defensive pairs.
